GROUP WALK- Calvário- Cabo Girão Cable Car from Fajã, Description:

The tenderness of this microclimate and the fertile soil in this boundary of the island is determinant for the vineyards and production as well as for the special and demarked famous Madeira Wine quality. Nevertheless there is the little missing component to refer: This very water channel where we walk brings the necessary and irrigates these fragile and rich landscapes. Some cherry trees are seen as well on this walk in” Ribeira da Caixa”.  The outlet going down to the cable car at Fajã and in parallel to the cliff of Cabo Girão gives us the most tremendous views, even delightfully catamarans and Santa Maria Ship, from other times, spreading the glamour into our waters. We stop finally at the viewing point coffee shop Cable car. An opportunity to refresh our gorge!

Excursion to Curral das Freiras

It is an opportunity to walk down to curral das Freiras, Nun’s valley. Imagine this ancient path is fully used until 1942 when was the ancient r road open to serve this population, because there is another root through the (2.600m/1,6Mls) road tunnel. This place is unique and traditional as ancient in its gastronomic and way of lifestyle, away from what we expect as normally seen nowadays time. There are several events all year around. All festival, events and special occasion are always let Fireworks. Traditionally are these Festivals:  virgin’s Festival, the Jesus Festival, the Chestnut Festival concededly with the all saints day, contrasting!
