1-The southwest tour and the beautifull natural lifestyle : If in Madeira we would have spoken from traditions, religion, habits and ancient lifestyle even the strong influence from our past such as the Mourish chapels built in this island , then it would have been these bounderies in the southwest lands that we could make reference to some of the old profession such as the"levadeiro",the Farmer, the mason, and the shepperd !!! lunch: 10€ 2-Rabaçal walk, the 25 Fountains and Risco waterfall- One of the most enchanting walks , specially after summer, when too warm can be too much and unconfortable to walk in such a steady wind valley! The whislering wters come then after the first mist and rain of Outom with a luxuriant mist forest of bays and hethers and billberries, and waterfalls everywhere , a combination of green and chily refreshing lungs spray!!! Unique feeling! Lunch : 10€
a) 4 (11km/6,8Mls) Difficulty grade: 4 to the footpath and in the water channel is grade 3 (1 to 6)
Walk from boaventura only for groups,Description: In an outstanding valley, between Pico Ruivo and the sea. Levada dos Tornos”. On this walk is an available true way of spending your time in Madeira, without worries about anything left behind!! We start at heather-grove Lomb do “Lombo do Urzal”, walking up in a small footpath through farmed lands about 15minutes. At the top we find the water channel” levada” and there is most of our walk. There is a slight possibility of vertigo. We fallow the levada to its very origin that we call the mother spring which is fed by this very first waterfall. Returning from the mother spring we go along the channel until we turn left at the water charge& filter house and tunnel which goes across to “Vale da Lapa, S.Jorge, Santana”, and again across another loin to “Vale da Nogueira”, where is located one of the 5 hydroelectric central stations ,that provides energy to east side of the island. The whole hydropower of the island is about 30%, wind power 7% and Oil Powered Plant 63%. Solar energy is still rather expensive to recreate energy to provide to poorer families in the island; thus almost and only rich people may spear some money!!! There is an easy descendent over about 30 minutes to Fajã do Penedo (Rock-saddle, cliff-saddle). Unforgettable walk!
Departure from Funchal: 09:10 - 09:40 h
